Waves  is a meta-theatrical adaptation of Henrik Ibsen’s The Lady from the Sea, bringing its three central female characters into a contemporary Palestinian context, all performed by a single Palestinian actress. The production moves between different identities, stories, and realities, exploring themes of freedom, choice, home, love, and identity - with a particular focus on language as a political and personal force.

Ashtar Theatre located in Ramallah on the West Bank, but also guest-perform worldwide. It has enjoyed huge international success with its The Gaza Monologues. The monologues are testimonies written by Ashtar youth in 2010, after the first war on the Gaza Strip. Tragically, these Monologues are still accurate today. They are highlighting the horrors, hopes and resilience of the courageous Gazans to a wider audience, bringing out the voices of children and people in Gaza.
